1 Thessalonians 2:13 amp.
And we also [especially] thank God continually for this, that when you received the message of God [which you heard] from us, you welcomed it not as the word of [mere] men, but as it truly is, the Word of God, which is effectually at work in you who believe [exercising its superhuman power in those who adhere to and trust in and rely on it]. ]
As born again Christians, to be healed, helped, encouraged and transformed a little bit more in the likeness if our Lord and Savior Jesus every day, there is only one thing that can be done. As we see in this verse, we have to read and study the Word. We do not need to set aside 3-4 hours in the to be in the Word: God can change you and talk to you in 10-15 minutes. What I mean is 3-4 hours is okay as well as 10-15 minutes. Many believers read the Word like a story book, when in fact it is a guide. The Word is alive and at work right now in those who believe, even if they don’t feel it working. But it all comes down to the amount of faith we have that it is truly working. Remember when Jesus healed a person He stated clearly According to your faith your shall be healed. Little faith, little blessings, rock solid faith, awesome blessings. The Word is compared to a double edge sword. When we take time in dwelling in it, it is important to prepare ourselves before. Again I don’t mean we need to take to hours to pray. My personal preparation is to say outlloud :This is my Bible, I am what it says I am, I can do what it says I can do, Lord please open my heart to receive your teachings and I declare that I will never be the same in Jesus’s name! This is my favorite, you can use it or pray something else, that is not important. The important part is to make sure you are mentally ready, for example read the Word in a silent place. It is not easy to concentrate with the TV or or the radio on. Don’t put pressure on yourself, God can change your life in 10 minutes of reading the Word. Don’t be afraid: Claim God’s promises for your life, He wants to bless you! Then the verse says that we have to trust the Word and rely on it. That might not be simple at first, but we get the hang of it fast. Do you trust Jesus? Do you rely on Him? If yes, you are not far from getting the big picture. Jesus is the Word. To rely is another word that simply means we can continually trust something or someone. So since we trust Jesus we must continually trust the Word. The Word is a guideline but is also much more, it will calm our nerves, dry our tears and make us joyful when we had a crappy day. The Word healed me in ways that I cannot begin to chare because it would take at least 100 posts in the same subject!
