Trust His ways

Isaiah 55:8-9 amp.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

How many times have we heard and read those two verses since we gave our life to Jesus Christ? But do we know what they really mean? Did you ever stopped at those verses and said “God, what is it that You are saying and how can I apply this to my life? ” When we read them it is easy to understand it means that God does not think the way we do. But how it applies to our life, or even better, how can we apply these verses to our daily lives? When we want something now but God says wait and it frustrates us, we have to remember the verses. When God tells us to forgive a person who hurt us badly and we don’t feel like it because we think we have a right to be hangry, we have to remember the verses. When God is in the process of breaking the attraction of something we like more than Him in our lives and it hurts, we have to remember. The point is nothing we do is exactly like God does it. But we have to learn to trust God’s ways. They are much,  much better than ours. They come in our lives at the perfect timing. They teach us things and new ways of  thinking we would not be able to get by our own ways. They bring peace, hope and faith. His ways are wisdom and always for our good. We have to come to the point of saying to Him “I surrender to You and your ways, because You alone knows what is best for me. Thank God that His ways are not our ways!  Our ways simply means the life we had before being born again, the life we lead our way. If we truly want to have this fabulous intimacy with God, we have to always seek His face (wanting to know more of Him,wanting to be filled with His strength) and not His hand (what He can give us) and trust His ways like a new born baby trust his mother instinctively.
